John Trollope made his debut at the age of 17 for Swindon Town on the 20th August 1960 against Halifax. A consistent left back, Trollope went on a run of 368 consecutive matches which was finally brought to an end in August 1968 when he broke his arm in a match at Hartlepool. John Trollope holds the record for the number of league appearances made for one club - having played 770 games between 1960 and 1980, an achievement which saw him receive the MBE.
